10. Revelation - Bulls on Parade
UPDATED/Replaced Video 12-06-08
(Well the first time through was mainly learning Vegas, now I have made a second pass/edit to to try and improve, let me know what you think this is Rev. 2)
*****
This is a video of first for me...
My first Vegas edit and my first time syncing a multi-camera shoot. So it was a fun project and a real learning experience. Comments and Criticisms welcomed.

Just used ambient mics so not yet happy with the Audio, but we're moving forward and learning live music shooting as we go. Just hoping to show the high energy, fun and excitment of a REVELATION concert.

The boys collection of originals has grown to where they don't do a lot of covers anymore, but this Rage Against The Machine cover of Bulls on Parade is my favorite of the ones they still do.

These guys are 16 and 17 and coming on strong in the Loiuisville, KY metal music community.

See their new single "Open the Door" that is being played on Cincinnati and Louisville radio on Fibro Twins Vimeo Page!. vimeo.com/2409579 edited by Mistro Mike to the raido cut they have been playing on the Indie Radio show.

I have been following these guys since they we 12 & 13 years old and I can assure you....The future of Thrash Metal is in good hands.

The cover was pretty good, singer was spot on. My suggestion would be to get another camera. I shot a band at a club last month, and we used three cams. two GL2s up front on either end, and one HD sony in the back. Having all 3 angles makes for a much more lively video. The audio wasn't bad at all. If you can't get another cam, at least go hand held on both.

  • The cover was pretty good. I thought even ambient mic did pretty good job, too! Definitely soundboard feed would be nice next time, though.
For the shooting, I would get a lot closer to players on 2nd camera. Be aggressive. Get sick solos very close. I used to be a little shy about getting too close, but since these kids got talent, I think it would be pretty darn good on camera. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work! Oh, and shoot concert videos on 24p with 1/24 shutter. Looks pretty cool that way, too..

Thanks for you insight and feedback I appreciate the input and gudieance. It is appreciated! I had a ball making this one. I probably put more focus into learning vegas than the edit, so I will probably work on continuing to try and refine this one to force my self to dig into Vegas and learn.
  • shooting and editing music concert is always fun and that's why I love my job!
looks like these kids have potential!

He's tweekin' man...he's tweekin'! Might be time for an intervention...

The Pear of Anguish...and the muzak version of Megadeth's "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?", replayed in endless repeat for 12 hours should do it.
