After deciding to visit Monticello, I did some research online and discovered several orchards in the Charlottesville area. Having been obsessed with peaches and good fruit my entire life, it was only natural that we drive the fifteen or so miles to Chiles Peach Orchard and pick some ourselves. The weather was cool and a little rainy -- perfect for an afternoon of peach picking. We walked away with 18lbs of peaches, which have made their way into our stomachs, and into homemade pies and ice cream since we returned to Greenville.
