Great video. Those short frame/fade sequences work well and synchronized with the music too. What was the frame duration -about 0.25 sec?
  •
  • Jim DeGraff 1 year ago
Hi James, the frame duration was .4 sec.,thanks for your kind comments, and thanks to Ted for his help in adding the video.

Welcome to the club Jim, and what a splendid entry you made. Great slideshow full of brigth new ideas. You are very talented, but watch out for too much technical tricks (an error I used to make too), because at the end the real subject of the show - your grandchild - might be pushed completely into the background.

Thanks John for making me feel welcome,I really enjoy this channel, there are so many talented people who have their work here.It has really opened my eyes to many new ideas and tech. issues.Everyone has been so gracious, the people really support one another.

Jim , when I saw this a few months ago I already had the feeling then that one day you would become one of the moderators, and I was right wasn't I ???

One technical question: I guess that your audiotrack must be a WMA file, because according to my own experience one cannot define timings in fractions of a second when using MP3 files. Am I right?
  • Jim DeGraff 8 months ago
    Right,thats all I ever use,I didn't realize that about MP3s.

I really like this. The dazzling special effects makes it interesting. Good job on the synchronization with the music, not easy to do.

With a subject like her, you were off to a great start... but you're pulling so many things together so well is what really made the piece great. Lots of inspiration in it for me and others. Thanks.

RATIONALE FOR INCLUSION IN THE PHOTOSTORY SHOWROOM

Only a few people have managed to score such a hit with their first upload. This little masterpiece was so full of inspiration that it was obvious for me that more nice thing were to expect, and I was right.
I selected this video as my fifth choice to be placed in the PhotoStory ShowRoom because it is a splendid example of what can be done in PS3 simply by perfectly syncing the pictures with the soundtrack.
I had been playing around with this idea also (and so did Jan Goverts, Henry Velthuysen and maybe a few others which I can't remember right now) but those were just exercises ... while this here was a little work of art in which the idea was used in a very "functional" way... to create a finished product worthy of the PSSR.
Great job Jim, and keep them coming please!!!
