In the most in-depth national research ever completed, researchers from UC Berkeley (berkeley.edu) and GIS Planning (GISplanning.com) conducted a study reviewing the different marketing strategies economic development organizations employ and highlights which methods are most effective. The study also analyzes the business site location process in stages and shows what information site selectors look for, through which channel, during each step of the selection process. This live presentation of the content of the book, Economic Development Marketing: Present & Future by Anatalio Ubalde and Eric Simundza looks at how marketing has changed from the past to the present and the direction it will move in the future.
The book is available for purchase on Amazon (amazon.com/Economic-Development-Marketing-Present-Future/dp/0615251463) and at the International Economic Development Council bookstore (iedconline.org/cgi-bin/iedc_bookstore/iedc.cgi?pub=05005)
This video was taken at the University of California shortly after the book was released in the fall of 2008.
