The varsity boys’ soccer team of Shawnee Mission Northwest defeated rival Olathe South in a thrilling game for the ages. Goals were scored by Junior Sam McCrillis who had 2 goals on the night, and the game winning goal with two seconds left on the clock by junior Jon Kamkam.

Olathe South ended the Cougars state hope when the Falcons scored a game-winning goal on the Cougars last year with left then a minute left in regulation.

This was the ultimate revenge for the Cougars and in the best way possible, to beat Olathe South with no time left. After the win, the Cougars were ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, with a 7-1 record.
