Olaf González Schneeweiss has 12 years experience as a director and editor, having worked in the Uk, (London) Indian Ocean,(Mayotte), Spain and France (Paris). As a freelance editor he has worked on different projects and tasks including editing documentary films, commercials, short-films, music videos and regional and national TV programmes. Olaf has a degree in cinema and film editing from Paris and a Masters in scriptwriting obtained in Spain. Strong solid knowledge in Avid, Final Cut Studio and After Effect.
In addition to this work experience, Olaf has been awarded by the Valencian Film Institute for his short film Double Parking.
"Working in both team environments and independently and having creative challenges are strong personal drivers for me. Directing my first short film, "Double Parking", filmed with Red One technology, and having over 30 employees under my entire responsibility has helped me develop my creativity for writing and filming."
In addition, editing a war documentary, "Erased Wiped Off The Map" about the Israelian and Palestinian conflict in Gaza 2009 has been one of the most intensive and rewarding experience in my life.
His next film,a mokumentary, “24 lies”, signing as a co-director and co-writer will be soon on screens. The film has outstanding Spanish writers and directors, such as Elías Querejeta, Iciar Bollaín, José Luis Sampedro, Juan José Millás, Elvira Lindo, among others.
In summer 2010 Olaf receives an offer to work in Mayotte, Indian Ocean, and begins a new adventure in the tropics. From January 2011 on Olaf makes a three months travel in Madagascar to make a photo-essay about the red island.
Now Olaf González is trying to find financial support to shoot his next project, "Seahunters" a documentary about The Vezo fishermen of the south and west coast of Madagascar in coopartion with the ngo Blue Ventures.
