Four members of Northwestern's 1949 Rose Bowl–winning team share the story of the Wildcats' history-making win over California. Trailing late in the fourth quarter, Northwestern grabbed the lead on a trick play and went on to a 20-14 win over the Golden Bears. The victory remains Northwestern's only win in six bowl games.
