“God uses all things to work for good, even the things that aren’t so good”
Born to a salesman who suffered from stomach cancer, Dean has had a life of travel, exploration and experimentation. Not knowing what he wanted to be when he grew up, Dean experimented with many different jobs. From working at a hotel, driving a taxi, real estate, teaching at Sunday school and selling insurance, he ultimately settled as a plumber and now owns a plumbing company. Married to wife Rebekah, a former hippie (“in 1983”) he raises his children based on is own upbringing (“we are products of our upbringing”). His cancer has given him freedom to enjoy things more and not to worry so much about what other people think. “It’s okay to make a mistake. That’s how you learn. Just learn from your mistake and move on. Life is one of the best teachers there is. Some things you cannot learn without living it,” he says.
