EXERCICE DE STYLE
Time Lapse, grande marée à St Briac (35).
Ceci est mon premier time lapse, et j'ai choisi d'explorer l'exercice de style.
Quelle que soit sa pertinence photographique, l'intérêt d'un time lapse consiste pour moi à jouer avec le phénomène que l'accélération révèle. Il m'ennuie s'il se contente d'égaler les photographies habituelles, si magnifiques soient-elles.
Avec "The unseen sea" (vimeo.com/15069551), le regard poétique mute le fog de San Francisco en océan brumeux dont les douces vagues caressent le relief et magnifie la vision de la ville. Un tel exemple décèle toute la pertinence du time lapse, il transcende le point de vue photographique habituel.

This is my first time-lapse, and I wanted to explore that kind of stylistic composition.
I don’t find any more photographic interest in time-lapse than in photography itself, however beautiful the photography is. For me, time-lapse is relevant only if we use it to play with the subject because the very purpose of a time-lapse is to reveal a phenomenon.
The poetic view of “The unseen sea” (vimeo.com/15069551) turns the San Francisco fog into a misty ocean whose soft waves caress the landscape and make the city looks magnificent. That kind of video shows the absolute relevance of a time-lapse. It transcends the usual photographic point of view.
