Stunningly beautiful. I understand that you had to disengage the electronic pins by twisting the lens, otherwise the camera would have adjusted the aperture rather than the shutter speed, no? Could one achieve these high shutter speeds at wide apertures in daylight by using non-ef lenses?

You can control aperture, you just have to set it before turning the lens. Would also work with non ef lenses.

    Hi, looks so great.
would you explain a little bit more what exactly you mean by "set it before turning the lens"?

does 5D support non ef lenses?

if yes which non ef lenses you recommend?

sorry to ask a lot, I'm a 5D lover and I'm doing a vast research. thanks friend

Hi Hossein, before going into live preview (movie preview mode setting) adjust the aperture to what ever you like then press and hold the DOF button whilst you press the lens release then turn the lens 2mm as if removing it.

Go into Live preview and point the camera at a strong light to get the ISO down to 100 and lock (hold) the camera '*' settings. You can the adjust the shutter speed (depending on light levels).

You can press the '*' to refresh the shutter range as you any have limited adjustments on the wheel.

You must have ISO 100 to get the fast shutter speeds.

I don't have any non ef lens yet but others have used them.

    Have a look at:

does it tell you what shutter speed it locks at?

Hi Michael, yes it does display before and after lock. The AE lock will hold the ISO allowing full range of shutter speeds. (depending on light levels).
