On July 17, 2007, Veneer magazine held an event called "VORP."

The original intent was to posit a physical manifestation of the hardship of magazine publishing by showering authors and editors in 200 MPH bullets from our readership. The authors were to read the articles through a megaphone while being physically assaulted by a gang of "readers," while the editors, immortal, tried to protect them. It was perhaps a wryly self-conscious stab at Veneer's veneer of "difficult writing."
