Drove up to Big Timber mostly for little scenic getaway and to see whats up. Had great weather the entire time, car read 51degrees as we headed up the road. We made it about 1/4 mile from the trailhead. pulled over on the road and parked it. couple places where there over 2 feet of hardpack frozen on the way to the trailhead. most of the trail was suprisingly clear for the amount of snow up there. But alass the deep snow on the trail shit started just below the top of Big T Falls, Good again in the meadow area, and lots of deep shit right above the bridge. Got to do little creeking, lapped most of the shit i ran. I kinda felt like it would have been disrespectful to run the big boys at such a low level, so i opted for the super classic shit in between. and decided to put in below gambler cause i was sick of hiking and the gambler portage looked pretty sketchy with this cornus looking object frozen to the side of the gorge and not enough water for the first 6 foot mank thing. no bueno looked like it could fall into that baby at any second, which could be good at least we could portage it and get a good bag on that shit. gotta love Big T even if its just barely enough water. i call this the high side of Leif. couple days at 70 degrees and im calling it good enough, for me, which obviously doesnt take a whole lot. stay safe and see you all on the water!
