Thanks to all who came out to share an evening with legendary author, poet and Guggenheim Fellow Margaret Atwood and Ms. Heidi Julavits, editor of The Believer Magazine for a great dialogue and conversation on The Importance of Voice in Contemporary Art!
We loved launching VPF's Summer of Firsts campaign with you at the debut of TANNA TALK, a new VPF series. TANNA TALKs are conversations with cultural contributors on the power and mystery of creative endeavor.
Rounding out the evening's literary start was a great premier for strings from DJ Spooky, performed by North Sky Cello Ensemble! (Check out their original composition, Once In King Tut, on the vid or at their site - northskycelloensemble [dot] com.)
The celebration was a benefit for Vanuatu Pacifica Foundation's Summer of Firsts on Tanna, Vanuatu:
- 1st Build: an Experimental Bamboo Bungalow
- 1st Youth Training: 50 Students & Bamboo Curing
- 1st Artists: with Formative Feedback on Tanna Retreats
A big VPF shout out to the night's sponsors -
