In March 2008, students and teachers from the Rietveld Academy (Amsterdam) worked for a month in Nepal, in close collaboration with students and teachers from KUarts, Kathmandu. The exchange's aim was to start an intercultural dialogue between the two cultures, focussing on the contemporary meaning of craftmanship. In September 2008 Nepalese students took part in a workperiod of 3 weeks in Amsterdam. 'In Between' is the title given to the final exhibitions held respectively at the Nepal Art Council in Kathmandu, and the Lloyd Hotel / Cultural Ambassy in Amsterdam. This little film came about during a wonderful weekend on the Dutch island Terschelling, organised by Aaf van Essen. It's an ode to the memorable moments we all shared thanks to this project.
