The second letter of Peter and Jude are often considered together because 2 Peter 2 and Jude share so many similarities (as they both warn believers about false teachers who will arise in their own midst). 2 Peter has a decidedly more "inward focus" than 1 Peter. 1 Peter encouraged believers against the external dangers (that would lead to suffering for the name of Christ) ; 2 Peter encouraged believers against the internal dangers within the community (that would lead to false teachers causing divisions and providing bad examples to follow).
