How is the audio recorded ? Separate track or from inside the camera?
  • VideoCobra 1 year ago

How did you do the cuts while keeping sync? Did you use two camera's to shoot this?
  • VideoCobra 1 year ago
The sync was done on the timeline and one camera was only used.

Hi VC. Looks like focussing is a challenge with this camera. When you are in Live view, can you still see image through the viewfinder at the same time?

No you can't as the mirror is lifted up and if your EYESIGHT is bad just like me you will have a challenging task with the LCD. But with a little practice can sort of work out i am sure cos the LCD is pretty sharp which helps.

Focusing is always a challenge when filming with these types of lenses. Even on Hollywood productions. There is a separate crew member who's job is solely to pull focus (after focus marks have been measured). This isn't a defect of the camera, really. An outboard monitor should help.

I understand about the focussing. I briefly had a Nikon D90 and it was similar. It's not really practical to have a focus puller for most people, or an external monitor. And the thing is, the camera comes supplied with a very sharp viewfinder that is wonderful for focussing, however it is not accessible when you need it. Ah well, maybe the next gen cams will improve on this.

But the 5D2 still takes beautiful shots if you work at it, no doubt about it.

Just got my 5d and was wondering what is your method of export from edius and then to vimeo and do you export from edius at 1920 by 1080 and vimeo changes it ?

EDIUS is really buggy software,I recommend AVID, FinalCut, or Sony Vegas.
