Wow! Yeah really nice quality from that camera.

Hey can you shoot something for me? I'm just curious. Some car traffic or people walking like at the mall or some intersection. Walking across, not toward. Or shoot some running stuff. Like running past bright colors like lilies or hanging clothes. I'm just really curious how the camera handles speed and color.

    Nice footage man.

oooh how I love my HV-20. It is an amazing piece of machinery, indeed. Highly recommended. I will start tagging my stuff so y'all can watch it if ya like. But here, this was all shot with the HV-20 (except for the light hoop scene): vimeo.com/238154 and this whole episode was shot on it as well: vimeo.com/238118

Your footage is absolutely stunning, Floom~ I am curious, what kind of edit system are you using and what kind of compression codec?

I wrote about the making-process in the videodescription =)
Shooting my first short film today, will also include some requested footage.

cool, thanks! I am curious, did you mean 24p? Or is that a PAL vs. NTSC thing? Ok, so you said you recorded straight to FCP and then edited in Vegas? Meaning you recorded directly into FCP as opposed to recording to tape and then capturing the tape? And then you edited in Vegas? Why mix the platforms? Sorry for asking so many questions, I just have never seen a workflow quite like that before =)

You sure came out with some amazing footage though... looking forward to seeing your film and test footage!

24p is NTSC, 25p is PAL. 60i is NTSC, 50i is PAL.
I captured my footage with final cut cause it has an good codec... I'd like to cut my movies with it, but It's a really long hard road from Vegas to Final Cut. As long as I'm in training with Final Cut I'm editing in Vegas, which I worked with for 4 years now. Where are the FCP experts? =(
  • el gabito 1 year ago
    fcp expert right here... :D
  • Alli Gallixsee 1 year ago
well, I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I have been working in FCP exclusively for 7 years now... so if you need any help, I've got quite a bit of experience in trouble shooting and getting people started with the program... but I work in NTSC and not PAL... the reason I asked about your workflow is exactly because I know the road between multiple platforms is pretty arduous. Have you seen automatic duck? automaticduck.com it might be of some help to you... also, ken stone's FCP site is a really really amazing resource: kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/fcp_homepage_index.html

I use the HV-20 and vegas 6, as well...
Could you please delve into "Export uncompressed and compressed with wmv-codec for vimeo" a little more.

What settings did you use to export uncompressed, and what is the wmv-codec for vimeo?

    Thanks :) nice cat
