yeah. the thing is i really was ernest! there had been this nasty smudge on the shoot before, and i remember distinctly thinking "ok, you've been doing this for 10 years now, got to get it right this time!" and yet here i am cleaning it with a wool sweater in the rain (and facing into the light, illuminating all the dust, to show off how poorly i am doing it!)
