Denver Museum of Nature & Science
Tuesday, May 24, 2011
Plunge into a national conversation about local and global water issues using the immersive technology of Gates Planetarium at the premier event for the new Worldviews Network (worldviews.net). Typically planetariums are used to study space, but their interactive visualization capabilities are also ideal for a discussion about earth systems and environmental science. This program was presented to a sold out audience in Denver and was simulcast live to sites across the United States. Geologist Dr. Bob Raynolds space scientist Dr. Ka Chun Yu explain the planetary processes that affect water supplies around the world and in the American West.
This interactive presentation was recorded live using the Uniview visualization platform, using datasets from NOAA, NASA, and elsewhere. The Worldviews Network is funded by NOAA Environmental Literacy Grants NA10SEC0080011 and NA10SEC0080017.
