This is a REALLY awesome cross-country video. I'm very curious how many gigs of footage you snapped to time lapse all of that!

    So sick!!

Awsome video. I've got a g37s in Platinum Graphite. You wouldn't happen to be a member at myg37.com would you? If not you should check it out.
  • Will Roegge 11 months ago
my friend Joey actually owns the car. If hes not a member already, I'll tell him to sign up. I was impressed with G37, I've driven the 350 & G35 before- but the G37 was actually great for extended driving and had more than enough power for some fun desert runs.

This was very entertaining and kept my attention the whole way through; you did a great job on it.

I especially liked the effect where, for example, on 00:26, it focuses on the car and then focuses on the hat.

Did you do that with your camera or with a video editing program? What exactly is that sort of effect called?
  • Greg F. 11 months ago
    Its called a rack focus

as far as i know it can only be done in camera

you focus on something distant then move the focus wheel until it focuses on an object in the foreground

    or vice versa

...one of my favorite effects, especially if it's done right, and it definitely was here. I have an HV20 which has a very small, hard to use focus wheel, so I am constantly struggling to do this effect... very cool

Loved this video by the way... one of the coolest I've seen in awhile for sure.

Hmm, I will have to look into that. I don't think my p&s camera that I film with can do that ;\

way kewl. how did you prevent sand from gettin' in the diggie cam gears?
  • Will Roegge 11 months ago
My EX-1 is def. due for a service and cleaning soon. It has been exposed to some harsh conditions. Tire debris at racr tracks, smoke, and sand. I just kept it on a mini tripod and out of the sand. cheers.

did you enter LA during the fires?
  • Will Roegge 11 months ago
This trip was the first week of December, so the fires have been under control for a bit. I live out in LA though- so I was around during them and during previous ones and its insane for shooting- it makes some unreal diffusion and changes the temperature of everything!
