1. SAIU trip to the Creation Museum
On 15 November 2008, the Secular Alliance of IU took a road trip to Petersburg, Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum. We came back shocked, puzzled and amused at what we witnessed. Here's our video.

Thanks, guys–I was curious as to what could possibly be in there. I had no idea it was so well-funded.
  •
  • Exxellent!!! Very informative and good. Now I don't have to visit myself.

Interesting how someone can come to a subject matter with their own set of presuppositions. Hard to be objective when this is the case. Was this video taken legally or does that matter? Without a basis for absolutes in regard to morality I would guess not. Let's instead believe that all matter is eternal rather than a God who is eternal. Before we start with step 12 in regard to evolution lets get an explanation of where the matter came from that made up the big bang. Who sounds silly now or don't you want to start with step one? Don't mean to sound critical but sometimes you just have to step back and confront your own silly presuppositions.

Andy Troyer, the video does not comment on deism. The topic at hand is young-earth creationism and evolution.

Also, we're not sure what you're suggesting when you say 'no basis for absolutes in regard to morality,' but to answer your question, yes, videography is permitted in the Museum, with some exceptions, with which we were happy to comply.

If you wish to debate deism, creationism, the big bang, etc, we invite you to join our forum at saiu.org. But rest assured that our members' individual confidence in the accuracy of the theory of evolution was not one that was presupposed by any means until we witnessed supporting scientific evidence. The Creation Museum, in contrast, had none such evidence to offer.

Great stuff! I just wish you hadn't given them so much of your money with the buying of the t-shirts and the admission to the museum and the etc!

Most powerful part is near the end --- all the shots of the books for sale in the gift store. Scary.

Wow … arrogant pretentious hipsters versus Jesus freaks, not sure which group I found more repulsive, the group so desperate to rebel against a religious minority or the creationists themselves. The Secular Alliance of IU was so desperate to appear more intelligent by mocking the creationists that they came off as self-serving and desperate for some faux sense of superiority. Yeah creationism is farce but if invest your own time and resources to go and publicly mock a group of people different than you, you’re as much of a waste of human potential as those at the exhibit. I found it incredibly ironic when the students mocked the creationists for their incorrect ideas, when they stated that a river, “formed by like wearing away at the ground”. All this video does is attempt to fight propaganda with even more biased propaganda.

"arrogant pretentious hipsters" Wrong. Young College students.

You found them repulsive? Wow! Not me. I liked some more than others especially the very last female filmed. Seemed like a very happy person.

"""came off as self-serving and desperate for some faux sense of superiority."""

Most all young adults that age think they have the world by the tail. They are young adults but they're kids too. Lighten up a bit...

""All this video does is attempt to fight propaganda with even more biased propaganda""

It's OK Conner no one here has any lions in their back yard.

"Young College students" Wrong. "arrogant pretentious hipsters."

I don't know a lot of respectable young college students that would take as much time, money, and effort as these young people have taken to go out of their way and make fun of another group of people.

It's downright immature and it shows a complete lack of class. Which coincidentally fits the bill of the hipster movement.
