The "castrexo" were the ancient inhabitants of Galicia who ruled the land before the arrival of the Romans. The Iron Age settlement that is the fortified hilltop of Vilandonga is one of the best preserved “castros” in Galicia and there is also a very interesting and informative museum at the site.
