Thanks guys. It was hard to find the right music, but thought this was the best option. The wardrobe change is just a matter of doing the project on different days - after a couple of days I thought it might have been funny to do it all wearing the same shirt, but it was too late. Besides, I can show off my shirts this way. :)

Thanks! It helps to have movies playing at the same time. I made it through ~24 movies (including the extended Lord of the Rings (stopping when the fan credits start, though) and the 5 hr Pride & Prejudice)).

I pour glue onto the foil and use a toothpick to apply the glue to the paper. Pouring the glue on the foil makes it easier to get the right amount of glue.

Yeah, after the first couple of days, my wife and friends thought it was almost done, but there's more and more that gets attached. Thanks for the comment!

I downloaded it. The pdf was a scan of a book ( ghibliworld.com/howlscollection.html#8 ) that one could buy a while ago from amazon. With all the details that went into it, I could never have designed it. There is another version that Epson's website had, but it is of the Castle at the end of the movie.

Yeah. The english dubbing is actually pretty good, although Christian Bale (who does the voice for Howl) sounds like he's still thinking he's the Batman. The original Japanese voices are really good.

Thanks! I thought the film was better the second or third time I watched it. I used my iSight on my MacBook to record a frame every 300 frames (so about every 10 seconds). Turned out that iMovie doesn't consistently capture every 300th frame (was more like every 450th frame). But even then the final footage was about 9 minutes. Exported the entire thing from iMovie as an image sequence, exporting 15 frames/sec, so that it would be twice as fast. Opened the image sequence in QT Pro, saved as a .mov, then imported into iMovie. Maybe more info than you needed, but that's how.

Mei was definitely wanting to be front and center.

Thanks! Yeah, foil takes up a lot less space. The only internal supports were from folding over sections of the top and bottom covers of the main round body.

I didn't invent it. Studio Ghibli produced it and sold the papercraft as a book. I downloaded a scanned version of the book and printed it out. Thanks for the comment.
