When Nik and I decide to get married, she was adamant that she wanted "Fetching the Bride" to be part of the proceedings.

"Fetching the Bride" is a quaint Singaporean wedding custom where the groom is made to go through a 'trial by ordeal' before being allowed to claim his bride, and get married.

Of course, it is always possible to bribe the bribe's friends and avoid the ordeal - but that wouldn't be much fun, right?
