Jordan embraced the religion of Islam in the mid 90's and out of what he felt was a religious obligation, dropped out of the sport. 15 years later he realizes that skateboarding is not prohibited Islam and starts competing again.

As a Muslim myself, I do participate in recreational activities like rock climbing, hitting the gym or probably swimming.
The fact is, physical activities were never prohibited in Islam (to begin with).
So long as we cover our aurah (modest dressing in Islam) upon engaging in such (activities), we are able to experience the same thing as any other normal athlete/pro-athlete/extreme-athlete would do.
