I've been pondering how CAM developers provide greater and more clear return on investment in software maintenance and subscriptions - this is a perfect example. This video shows a complex simultaneous 5-axis toolpath - you can see from the video that the table and head movement are pretty erratic. That means cutter loading is inconsistent, there are dramatic changes in direction of cut and the whole thing adds up to poor quality surface finish.. the next one in the series shows it with Azimuth smoothing applied (as found in PowerMill9)
