Great video and nice tips especially in regards to being careful with the tape loading mechanisms.

I have been mixing tape brands for many years and I have never had a problem. If you own a Canon camera and you buy their "brand" of tape you will become a poor man very quickly.

I currently use Panasonic tapes in my Canon equipment and it works just fine.

Thank you for the kind words. For the longest time I would use whatever tape stock that was available. It never seemed to make a difference until I ventured into HDV. Both my Sony and Canon cameras are insanely fussy about what stock I use. Particularly the XH A1. It clogs if I even think about using something other than my usual stock in it. It is more expensive than I would like, but after having to clean the heads on my camera at the top of Notre Dame in Paris one day (nothing to use except fast forward and rewind in an effort to blow the clog off the heads) I decided to bite the bullet and just stay with one stock for everything. I liked it when it was cheap to make videos.
