    Quick question - what is the native resolution of Vimeo videos after they've been encoded? Do they stay at the resolution shot at, or are they reduced to some other size?

    Right now its 460x345 unless the source video is smaller than that.

    So, being a sucker for quality, there's not much point taking the video size over that as it would stretch the pixels rather than pull a higher resolution stream.

    I leave my videos at their original size (ie 640 x 480) and let the transcoder scale them down for the best results. This also "future proofs" my videos in case the transcoding size is increased.

    Dalas... Did they really retranscode all the older videos when the uped the size last time? I didn't think that they retranscoded those because the old videos look the same quality to me on v5 as they did on v4... maybe someone could clear this up. :)

    No, the videos were not retranscoded, but that doesn't rule out the possibility in the future. Having the videos look good is in our best interest.

    I love that the customizer's now hidden by default.. it was kinda bulky at first! Good touch. And also, why is it set for 480 instead of 460 by default? 480 is a tad too big for the column in my blog and besides the vids are 460. Overall, this is a great feature. Vimeo 5.1 is coming along nicely.

    460 is the default, but it will remember your settings. Click "reset to defaults" and you'll be set.

    Just one thing, clicking the "embed" icon inside the clip doesnt work in the Mozilla browser, I mean, it wont show the code Im supposed to embed.

    Why does this customizer not work with any of my own videos under either IE or Firefox? Is is something to do with the code not liking my username's special characters? The last line of the code is never completed properly with the closing tag and the last character is this: Ã which is obviously not my username!

    See, it puts that A with a squiggle and doesn't close the tag. Is that what's crashing the customizer code?

    this is useful stuff thanks, but i have a question if i may..

    Is it possible to hide the "other videos thumbnails, from Luis Santos , leave comment.." thingy when the video ends on?

    I'm using the embed for a video tutorial website project im developing for school purposes and I kinda liked the user not being mislead in the order of the video tutorials they should play first..
