"I laughed, I cried. Dave would have loved this wonderful hommage that totally captures the warmth, action and humor of his creation. Thank you for making this!"
William Stout - williamstout.com/
Dave would have been impressed. It should be a televison series!
Paul De Meo - Rocketeer co-writer & co-screenwriter imdb.com/name/nm0210290/
I was fairly close with Dave (we worked together on a number of projects) and I know he would have dug this...

I haven't seen Rocketeer yet,
though I really enjoy this not very strong, but brave young hero=)
Watching this homage arouse my interest to discover how Rocketeer is. Great job!
keep it up !
I was away a few dayz
thanks for all your comments !
we put a bit of our hearts in it, so it cheers me up to see all those good reactions !!!
It reminded me a bit too much of the beginning scenes of Up though, also how the little guy is designed with the big glasses.
Very professional looking.
indeed...but we completed this before discovering UP in theatre...it's pure coincidence... when I saw it, I was...damn... :)
Very solid piece of work all the way through.
All the best.
What was the timeline on the production from start to finish? Did you all already have most of these assets modeled? Would love to hear more about the production!
Great job!
What program did you guys primarily use when making it? Looks so good.
This piece was really nice. Although I feel the flying could use some work? Seems a bit slow and the weight of the flying and running bugs me.
But I must say I still really liked this piece. Simple, attractive and fun.
What a great work! This should have played at the 20th event! I knew Dave for many years he appeared in my documentary on one his favorite artists Robert McGinnis, and he would have loved this!!! Perfection!

Great work and all the best!
I'm very happy to see this little movie is spreading...
to answer a few questions :
- it was made on 3dsmax, with very simple scanline renders...
- most of the sets are camera mapping...
- it's hard to say how much time we spend on it...
but not so much...people came sometimes on the project for just a few days... it was made with economy in mind...
- we didnt use origianl Rocketeer soundtrack (wich I looooove) for legal reasons...
- we finish this in 2009...and the little kid playing with plane was done long before I discovered UP... of course when I saw UP in theatre, 1st think I though, people will say we copy ^^
- Paul Jilbert : I'm happy to read this...I wish he would have seen it, as I sent him the 1st version of the characters around 2004...
- Lucas R. : we built everything aside from our commercial projects... and the project spread on a long timeperiod because of this...but if you put all together, it was probably a few months...
thks !!
Love the Rocketeer and the story!
