This is the spec spot for Nivea that we shot as part of the DSLR Masterclass 2011 in Mallorca with Philip Bloom, Sebastian Wiegärtner & Nino Leitner.
The concept is very simple, yet powerful in execution, given the limited amount of time we spent shooting (3 hours) and editing it (6 hours). Set to the music of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", this video aims to convince the viewer to choose the wiser type of skin care.
Without our main actor, Peter "Stuttgart" Köbich the concept may not have worked. He was a guest at the Club Colonia Sant Jordi resort in Mallorca where the Masterclass was held. We originally approached him merely to inform him that were planning to shoot near his sun spot. He was immediately enthousiastic and wanted to participate without much convincing from us.
Since we had no time for proper grading, the image may appear flat (we set all cameras to PP Neutral, -4, -4, -2). The image is warmed up a bit since we decided to choose a specific Kelvin value for the colour temperature: 6200K instead of 5600K.
Here are the details:
The Good: Sebastian Kämpfe
The Bad: Peter "Stuttgart" Köbich
