Nice video Joey, clean audio and great visual story telling. I really liked the scene setting sequence at the top and how you stuck with the story until the bitter end. I'm sure you know about the exposure lock issue right? Okay. Overall, I connected with this video because it took me back to my j-school days and showed that although the technology is sooo much better, today's young writers and editors have that passion for good journalism. Never lose that. Your video, like this issue of the Texan. was done in a very thoughtful way and it shows.

Thanks, all! To Alex, yes, I used a tripod for the whole thing. The D90 has some wibbliness issues when handheld. To Len, the exposure lock problem is unfortunate. It's more or less fixable, and I fixed it in several places, but in the future a friend of mine showed me the AE-Lock Hold feature, which is a great solution that I wish I'd known about for this shoot; my thumb was practically sore from holding the AE-L button all day, and I still messed up some shots!

Great job on the video! The audio was pro all the through. Why did you choose the D90 for this project? Didn't you have any semi-pro video cameras at your disposal?

I wish; I could have had access to a Sony PD-170, but there wasn't anything HD available to me. Besides, I just got the D90 and I wanted to put it through the paces; I'm more into stills than video anyway, so that's where I invest my (very limited) funds. ;-)

A good friend of mine is a video producer. When he was young he was forced to be creative when he worked at a college because there was no money to do things the easy way.

Today he is very grateful but what his lack of funds taught him.
