Hiking to a waterfall in Kalauao Valley on Oahu, Hawaii on June 12th, 2011. The trail into Kalauao Valley branches off to the northwest of the popular Aiea Loop Trail. Once in the valley, the path then criss-crosses Kalauao Stream to a waterfall. The waterfall, usually a trickle, only flows heavily after a decent amount of rain. On this outing the waterfall was gushing in full form from the recent rains. After taking a dip and jumping off the ledges into the pool, we decided to make the trail a loop by going upstream past the falls, taking a right junction heading southeast, and following an indistinct trail that eventually intersected the Aiea Loop Trail.
