Ground-truthing salmon farming in the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
8 months ago
The large Norwegian company Cermaq has an application in for another large-scale fish farm in a pristine area off Vancouver Island's West Coast. Cermaq claims that pollution already exists in the area, therefore their fish farm will not detrimentally impact the site. This video reveals a healthy sea floor and sea life, not the polluted, limited life promoted in the application. If granted this salmon feedlot will destroy prime wild fish habitat and possibly introduce recently discovered symptoms of ISA (Infectious Salmon Anemia) into wild populations and Canadians lose again.
