I wasn't sure if this was appropriate for Vimeo because it is a photo-and-text slideshow, but then figured, "why not?" Getting people to see it is the important thing.
This is a slideshow that documents a service-learning trip to Louisiana that I helped organize and lead in March 2006. It shows the devastation of the two hurricanes in New Orleans and in rural Vermilion Parish, and describes what we learned and what we tried to do to help that week.
There is no audio, sorry, but I hope the images are dramatic enough to suffice on their own. About half of the photos are mine, but the others come from the wonderful graduate students who went on the trip with me. Photo credits are at the bottom right of each photo.
There is still much to do, of course, in the recovery effort. See the end of the slideshow for info on how to help.
