This is a move of a road deer kill set out to locate a Puma in the Santa Cruz Mountains. When the Puma moved the deer enough a signal was sent from a remote sensor and The Bay Area Puma Project (BAPP) was notified via satellite. This Puma was then treed with hounds, sedated and fitted with a GPS tracking collar.
This is 24f, Puma # 24, a female. We named her Esperanza meaning “Hope”. She is approximately 8 years old and is 83 lbs.
