On November 26, 2010, the #4 Boise St. Broncos traveled to Mackay Stadium in Reno, NV to take on the #19 Nevada Wolf Pack. The Broncos were winners of 24 straight games, 10 straight against Nevada, poised to win a birth in the Rose Bowl and perhaps even the BCS Championship game.
That season, no one had tested Boise since the first game of the season. They'd won the previous 8 games by an average of 39 points. The past 3 seasons had seen Nevada push Boise to the limit; the games followed a familiar script, Boise would jump out to a big lead and then Nevada would come roaring back, only to fall short in the end.
The week before the game, Nevada fans began using an expression, "We Believe!"
This game began like the 3 previous, Boise jumped out to a big lead and appeared to be rolling over yet another over matched opponent. But somewhere near the mid point in the 3rd quarter, something changed.
