I loved it and being in Greek added a warmth that touched me.

το μόνο που δεν μου άρεσε ήταν ότι όταν γύρισε ο πατέρας κάθησε πάρα πολύ κοντά στον γιό. Δλδ, νομίζω ότι έπρεπε να καθήσει ακόμα μακρύτερα από πριν... μου φάνηκε σαν πολύ στημένο αυτό...όλα τα υπόλοιπα μου άρεσαν και με συγκίνησαν, να είστε καλά να κάνετε πάντα τέτοια!!

I really enjoyed the tone and pace of this film. The lead in with the super long tracking shot nicely established our characters and the setting. The bird's 'out of the this world' CG (whether deliberate or not) in my opinion was perfect. It gave the film a sense of surrealism and a dreamlike touch. Very well done.
My only gripe ... (and I say this with some hesitation) was some of the aesthetic choices. The camera moves, although nicely composed, in my opinion were a tad too shaky at times for a film like this. A pristine, smooth dolly from one side of the grass to the next would have done so much for me! Anyway... it's just a technical flub.
I really dug the style though. The colors were great.

I see this as a chilling story of a father's cruelty.
First he tells the son 21 times it's a sparrow, makes a record of his martyrdom, then waits 30 years for the son to forget, and entraps and shames him!
What a sick bastard! Clearly he was full of resentment about his child's slowness to have hatched such a spiteful decades-long revenge plot.
If he wanted a hug, he could've just given his son a hug! But no, he wanted a guilt-hug. He wanted his son to suffer and hate himself.
Note that the son answers gently a few times and has to be provoked into his outburst by a cunning and bitter man. Clearly the father's memory is perfect if he remembers his 30-year-old diary entry, so he is not senile in the least, only evil!
