Paul Capitasto, wetland restoration biologist for the Wildlife Division of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection discusses controlling Phragmites grass, an invasive Marsh Grass. This grass has invaded most of Connecticut's marshes driving out not only plant species, but animal life as well.
Controlling this grass through herbicides and mowing with a Marshmaster mower, shown in the video, allow both native plant and animal species to recover and thrive.
