This run is held every winter to raise money for various charities. "[...] Started in Boston in December 2000 by five intrepid men, the Santa Speedo Run has gone on to attract thousands of runners over the last eight years."
The Albany Santa Speedo Sprint 08 was organized locally by ASAP, The Albany Society for the Advancement of Philanthropy. "[...] (ASAP) was started as a way to give back to the Albany area in a way that was enjoyable for all involved; to encourage philanthropy and have a good time while doing so.".
