Millstone at Adams Pond Wedding Trailer
Ella and Matt were married on 11.29.08 at the Millstone at Adams Pond in Columbia, SC.
We always enjoy filming there but were surprised about the rainy weather that late in November. The rain didnt damper the wedding at all so we stepped it up a notch and made sure to get shots that allowed us to include the rain in the video.
I would also like to thanks Clark Berry Photography for providing the stellar thumbnail photo.

Overall its a very nice unit.
Low light is only slightly if any better than the FX1
Color reproduction seems much more accurate but I also still work the image in post just as much as before so its not saving me any time there.
Wide Angle of the stock lens is AWESOME and the 20x is also really nice.
The Screen is UNREAL!!!!!!
The casing and layout is similar to the FX1 but also has its differences. If I had to say which one I liked best it would be the FX1000 but by a small amount only.
The grain on the 1000 is more noticeable at higher DB's but not by much.
I really like the camera so please dont take this the wrong way but if you have FX1's or Z1u's I honestly wouldnt be rushing out to swap them.
Our plan was to replace one of our Z1us with another FX1000 if we liked the one we got but we have decided that its not worth the cost it would cost us to swap at this point in time.
Keep in mind also that I do not shoot with any picture profiles so it is quite possible that I could tweak this thing to be better than it is and maybe alter my opinion slightly.
If you are replacing hc7's then you are going to be extatic with the FX1000 or the Z5U. It will be lightyears better than what you have.
Im not quite sure what your current situation is or what you business target exactly is but since you have looked and commented on some of our stuff I can only assume its wedding related.
If I were you instead of the z5u I would invest in a fx1000 along with two Marantz PMD 620's. You will save yourself some loot and have much better audio capturing with the 620's.
The visual differences with the z5u and fx1000 are next to nothing and the main advantage is that it has XLR inputs along with a direct connection method for the alternate(sold seperately BTW) compact flash recording unit.
This is just my recommendation, but I believe the fx1000 with two pmd620's would take you much farther than a single z5u and all for less money. (keep in mind I am making this recommendation for wedding work)
;-) good luck!!
As far as slow motion clips from the 1000 they are strewn all throughout this piece.
If you are looking for the CMOS rolling shutter effect for flashes and fast movement.
IT DOES EXISTS!!!! This is an attribute of the rolling shutter so it will exist on any camera that has this type shutter.
My take on the rolling shutter is that its no big deal. I gaurantee a client will not ever notice anything.
We shoot full manual focus so I cant speak to heavily on all scenarios of Auto Focus.
maybe someone else will be interested...
