1. Digital Art: a poetic vision | Toporek
11 months ago
This video is a presentation of the subjects that inform and inspire my personal work. It is an eclectic collection that includes poetry, mysticism, mathematics, music, theology, quantum physics, sacred geometry, philosophy and visual arts.
In my body of work, each piece has served as a learning experience; an opportunity to discover new aspects of my own reality. They were not created to make any specific statements or assert any truths. Instead, I started every piece with the hope that an unexpected grain of truth would reveal itself to me. The value of my work can be attributed to this intangible process of exploration and its resulting ephemeral glimpses into the mysterious.

...BRAVISIMO !!

Mr. Cpt Kurt and Mr. C S Forbes: Thanks for the positive comments. I'm working hard to have part 2 ready by the end of February. I'll keep you posted.

There is no ideal point from which to see, feel, hear or experience a thing. Your video represents this. It moves you in no standard expected order yet provides you with an experience/response never experienced before.. Like a poem, it has an order beyond what we have come to expect as order. It is a beautiful amalgamation of potent things in my perception, therefore my comments and thanks for this original experience. Thank you. Part 2 already resonates as its physical manifestation comes into my awareness.

    Hi Lloyd,

I really appreciate your words. I made the video for the pure pleasure of sharing some of these ideas. I've spent quite a bit of time (and money) in it. I consider compliments like yours my best form of reward.

    cheers,
    Topo

I love how you're assembling all the pieces to this great puzzle!
    thank you

Hey Joe, thanks for your support. I truly appreciate it. My distribution budget is close to zero millions :-)

The reference to pt2 is because originally I uploaded only 16 of the 35 minute.

I'm currently working on a feature-length piece that will tackle other related subjects. It's about representation of reality and the power of images. As soon as it's done I'll let you know.

stay cool. Topo (how friends call me)

Thought provoking & totally entertaining! Future education ought to be like this :-) We learn a lot faster this way. I blog & write reviews from an experience standpoint, incorporating what I know into what I enjoy. Happy to know I'm not alone in this & lucky to find you out here in this universe! Wish I'm as brilliant in conveying what I feel & think about! Excellent presentation. Hope to see more works from you. I'll be following your growth!

Thank you, Sergio! It's realy great philosophical and art work! How long does it takes you to make this movie?
I thinking about to translate it in russian.
  • Sergio Toporek plus 6 months ago
Hey IZI, between writing, direction and production it was about a year (I was working on commercial work at the same time). It would be awesome if you could translate it to russian, let me know if you do.

    cheers, Topo

i wrote a poem about time and space and god.
its in german, but i hope that somebody will translate it for you, if your interested.
to reach the different stages of conciousness and to eperience different realitys out of this you have to castigate the senses. thats why in the highest conciousness in the stage of enlightment there is no drinking, no sleeping and no eating.
in deep meditation the will leave there body by full conciousness and overcome death and to become angel
in the holly scriptures of patajalim is written how, to reach this stages. in spirituality there is also a practise that the individual soul of the student can get connected with the universal soul. out of this the student can be influenced in many ways out of time and space!
the chalachakra initations shows also a lot about the different stages of conciosness....
    sorry for my bad english!
    greatings from berne

beautiful illustrations of several ideas that rarely get expressed in the medium of motion graphics. your topic material seems to wander quite liberally however and I am not sure if this is a strength or a weakness. a lot of my own work was often criticized for drawing upon too many varied references. it is nice to see i am not the only one who finds this varity of pursuit worthwhile.

otherwise, from a horrible marketing perspective, you might want to consider shortening the opening sequence, or perhaps making a smaller trailer film as i imagine the lengthy opening might scare a lot of people away from the film who would actually be quite interested if they gave it the time to get started...
  • Sergio Toporek plus 6 months ago
Hey Morgan, thanks for the input. I believe you're right on all counts, specially about the opening. I think I will take your advice and prepare a 1min trailer.

About the subjects, they are quite eclectic, but that was a conscious decision. As I mention during the intro, these are the subjects that inspire my personal artwork, and they are very varied (I actually left 90% of them out).

BTW, I rally enjoyed Reminiscence. Relaxing and hypnotic, great combo of visuals and music.

    cheers, Topo

Bravo..The search 'within' verses the exterior 'theories'!
Your film most excellent and I love the way your work exposed volatile concepts. Your production and compilation astounding! Thank you for the journey through space.. Loved your tying in the Golden Spiral and the Mandelbrot set that describes the boundary which forms a 'fractal'..
showing simplicity and complexity are not opposites but rather they are one and the same.. and infinite!!! Brilliant job!! Great visual!!
  • Sergio Toporek plus 6 months ago
Hey Bliss, thanks for the awesome review :–) I should hang out with you, it would be very healthy for my self esteem. Seriously, I'm glad you enjoyed it, that's why I made it. Even though I spent quite a bit of time and money on this, I released it to Creative Commons immediately, so I consider compliments like yours my best form of reward.

A big kiss from Vancouver, Topo

Great job Topo :) Looks like you got a handle on AE now, that's great! This was the first time I watched the video in full. It really is a masterpiece! Congrats!

I also believe reality is mathematical and mysterious. I enjoy your perspective and your research on the subject a lot.
  • Sergio Toporek plus 1 month ago
Thanks Ryan. The truth is I learned most of my AE skills watching you work on that piece you helped me with. I guess I had a great teacher :)

Have an amazing time in Australia. I'm sure you'll find a fun job that pays well. Keep me posted. Hope to see you soon.

This was such a beautifully threaded sequence of ideas, amazing work! Such a rich tapestry of concepts, thanks so much, it's was amazing and captivating (and not at all random either - well, not to me anyway ;))
  • Sergio Toporek plus 3 days ago
Thanks Nyx, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm happy to hear you understood the thread. That's part of the paradox, life only appears to be random because everything is interconnected. I'm working on a new video. Longer and on a different but related subject. I'll keep you posted.
