Dr. Le Ru is a principal investigator at the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology. He completed his PhD at Imperial College, London and moved to New Zealand during his Post Doc. Since then he has become a world leader in Raman Spectroscopy techniques, and has just co-authored a book on the subject with his colleague and friend, Prof. Pablo Etchegoin. In this interview Dr. Le Ru discusses what drives him to research, how the MacDiarmid Institute assisted getting where he is today, and has a few 'pearls of wisdom' for up-and-coming PhD students and Post Docs.
