Raw metal is a collaboration between Edward Holland/ Owen Bowden (bulbcollective) and Suzi Tibbetts,
Raw metal is an interactive musical performance, with both music and software written especially for the evening. Retaining the metallic theme of November’s Friday Late at the V&A series, the piece has been constructed with metal, both in the actual and sonic senses. Every sound utilised by Raw Metal has been sourced entirely from the recording of metal objects. Audiences are invited to both accompany as well as actively contribute to Raw Metal’s pre-composed material, by selecting and striking metal objects before a microphone. Resultant sounds will be manipulated, struck and contorted into new aural shapes as the the inner sonicallities of metal sound, both percussive and resonant, are explored.
Audio on the video flips from recording from camera to recording straight from desk at around 20 sec
