"Back to Mine was a series of mix albums, usually (though not always) mixed by renowned DJs or composers of electronic music. The compilations usually feature artists other than the artist compiling the album, and are based on what the artist would play at home after a night out, rather than as part of a nightclub session."
For the next show, I'm thinking of making the second hour a mellow, downtempo mix. I live vicariously through pictures and my music collection, imagining that I am a DJ of sorts, with enough taste to have been selected for a series like the Back To Mine or Another Late Night series (I can always dream, right?)
I took this picture at Lahore's Cafe Aylanto with some friends- it reminded me of the cover artwork for the Back To Mine album that Groove Armada had been asked to do in March 2000. We stayed until it closed. I'd like the second hour of the show to sound like an after hours set, to a nice night out. Sure you can't go nightclubbing in Lahore- but you can try having a nice time. It doesn't have to end early.
That's why the Sapuri Sessions comes on when there's nothing else going on.
See you guys then.
