It was a secret 50th birthday celebration for Quincy McLean.
The theme of the party was the Dada style of Zurick CABARET VOLTAIRE. The dress code was strictly turn of the 20th century, Dadaist with evening gowns, lounge suits, smoking jackets and even nudity!
All the of the artists performing played songs from Quincy McLeans extensive back catalogue from his first punk band, Scrap Museum, his breakthrough act Blue Ruin and Quincy McLean & The Smooth Bastards.
The venue was hosted by Quincy McLean and Helen Marcou at the famous Bakehouse Studios in Richmond. The people attending were the who's who of the Melbourne Music Scene. They included Dan Kelly, Angie Hart, Myf Warhurst, Dan Sultan, Jae Laffer (The Panics), Alexander Gow (Oh Mercy), Mick Turner, Steve Lucas, Pete & Dan Luscombe, Emily Ulman, Rui Pereira and lots more.
