Director Michael Bay and Producer Steven Spielberg return this summer for the third film in the Transformers franchise, Tranformers: Dark of the Moon. The amazing visual effects in this film are complemented by the talented efforts of the sound team including Re-recording Mixers Greg Russell and Jeff Haboush, and Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designers Ethan Van der Ryn, and Erik Aadahl.

I'm all for the idea of large movies that have explosions and become a thrilling ride. But they must also have a stable plot and solid screenplay (at the very least). Not one that works as a flimsy piece of framework, that's only relevance is to give an excuse as to why our senses our being obliterated by incoherent editing/ visuals.
Nahuel882, if you're suggesting that dramas are a category of "boring" movies, then I must say you're surely missing out. The only "boring" movies are the ones that offer nothing new and waste our time.
So when I say Transformers (all of them) are bad movies, I'm saying just that. They're badly made and badly executed films.

end up in movies by accident?
Live and let live, bitter
However, I find it disheartening that perhaps the only reason many people go to the movies nowadays (look at the incredible box office results for the movie) are because of shallow visuals or ideas purely on the surface. It seems the audience that these types of films are intended for, is one that does not require a good script or a script at all. Why not go on a roller coaster if you're looking for a similar reaction.
Now, I realize that i'm being completely subjective here when I explain that I do not enjoy this movie, but it's subjective by widespread consensus that not once in the series do majority of critics find it appealing. In fact, it's the opposite.
Do we simply wish to not "think so much" when attending the theatre? Is this our idea of escapism? Why can't we have both the thrills or intensity of a Michael Bay film, along with the intellect of a Scorcese picture? We can . . . and his name IS Martin Scorsese or Ridley Scott or Paul Thomas Anderson or the Cohen Brothers etc.
(Let's not also forget that Christopher Nolan has already been doing exactly what you ask for)

Very interesting.
By the way, American movies are full of action already. They better slow down their movies a little bit. They put in their movies so many delicate details yet you can not see any of them, becase the scenes are so short and everything moves so fast on the screen. The scenes are very crowded and fast moving. I like to see a city under attack but I don't like to see people always escape from exploding buildings. Let them die. That's more interesting. Sometimes, we want to see the aftermath of an accident or attack. Sometimes we just want to stop and see while an alien ship destroys a building. We just want to watch its every phase, not a few miliseconds of it. Are all the Americans hyperactive?
I couldn't watch Transformers 1 because my head ached.
Still, thanks for the video. It's always been interesting and inspiring to see how top professionals do their job.
PS. I'm happy the movie takes place on the Moon. I look forward to see the renderings of the Moon in 3D. I hope it will be like going there. But, are there any sound on the moon? You know, there's no atmosphere there and .... no sound there.
If you look at the UK based production "Children of Men", if provides exactly what you're talking about.
As for the sound on the moon? I believe "2001" is still one of the only pictures to recognize that there is nothing to be heard in space. This does not include "Star Wars" of course ;).
If you are looking for a really cool space scene with no audio and a true representation of space, then the latest Star Trek movie does a blinding job of this in the opening sequence and the scene where they are 'skydiving' to a planet. Nothing but the breathing of the characters and the wind moving their clothes when they enter the planets atmosphere is detailed, accurate and very entertaining.
Trying to control my videos, otherwise they show up on YouTube on other people's accounts taking credit for my videos. You know what I mean?
Anyone bad mouth Micheal Bay I will kill him.
Sound is a forgotten art form, the other half to making a movie pop.
But I'll be damned if he didn't have the best effects and audio coordinators on the planet.
The utmost respect to all the people in post.
Jesus Michael Bay, what the heck goes through your mind?
Travesty.
Perhaps Faulkner said it best in regards to Hemingway... "He has never been known to use a word that might send a reader to the dictionary." Just translate that into the world of film and you might get an idea of what I mean.
You know what happens when you assume... I most definitely know how to have fun at the movies. Machete for example, was an uproariously jaw dropping extravaganza, over the top in every way. However, Rodriguez's over the top was a breath of fresh air, whereas Bay's over the top is predictable and played out. Bay lost my attention after The Rock, and I was 12 at the time.
My apologies for preferring movies with more of an original flair.
And don't get me wrong, the sound design that's displayed in the clip above is nothing short than amazing. Yeah, that was a cool noise they used for the transforming in the first Transformers, but did they have to use EVERY time, and did Bay have to slow-mo EVERY time?
Stop jacking off Michael Bay, it's no longer epic if you do it every chance you get.
My apologies again for ranting. I'm not a Bay fan as I previously stated.
I do not believe the word "pointless" should ever be used in the description of a film.
Every second of it, should contain purpose and motivation.
You are right I should not assume. I know nothing about you, and judging you over the enter net is wrong. I am sorry.
