On JUNE 28, 2011, the NEW YORK CITY council was scheduled to vote on a citywide budget that would end the jobs of more than 1,000 public sector workers, closing senior centers, homeless shelters, shrinking child care programs and cutting library services. Making it even more difficult for women, people of color and all working people of this City to have decent lives.
In response, Bloombergville and its supporters marched to 250 Broadway, city council offices. While a group of 13 already inside, took direct action against these proposed budget cuts.
