thats so awesome that they mixed in Jack Daniels with the ink!!! so creative, that gave the poster that "sour mash" continuity that ever bottle of Jack Daniels has. I absolutely love that idea

Superb footage and editing...great storytelling for an advert! I was dying to hear natural sounds of the brushes and old machinery and wood tools!!

I love it. I really like how they thinned the ink with the JD as well.

Wow guys, banjo + letterpress + whiskey + craftsmanship = design-Americana overload. Seriously, I almost had a creative aneurysm. Superb editing; not a wasted shot. The only problem is that now I can't decide what I want to do first: apply for a job at Yee-Haw or go out and responsibly down a bottle of JD.

Sweet, especially the adding of JD to the ink.

The ink with Jack was a nice touch if that was really true or staged. Not to forget the hill billy likeness of funny Tennessee Personas with Banjos.

We did indeed use actual Jack Daniel's in all the black ink. The banjo player is the real deal as well. He owns the banjo shop next to the print shop (Morelock Music) and that happens to be what he was wearing the day we shot the footage. Authenticity can be a blessing.

is there a technical or chemical justification for putting whiskey in the ink, or is it just for fun?

Katie, these posters were printed in an extremely limited run and are now collector's items. We thought it was a cool element to have Jack be an actual part of the ink and ultimately, the print. Both letterpress and JD have an amazing heritage/history and we thought it made a nice marriage. There was no chemical reason for adding the whiskey.
