One month before Hurricane Ike hit Galveston, Texas in 2008, this short film was shot on the quiet beach just a few miles southwest of town. With the exception of a small number of shell hunters and joggers not much goes on in the early morning surf. However, evidence of happenings during the night are seen on the beach. From lonely bits of marooned seaweed, broken shells to microscopic dunes of windblown sand, the natural elements are hard at work changing the scenery. Whatever the lay of the land is, there is beauty in the shapes and patterns of light, sand and water. The music was provided by the improvisational band Squeaky Burger.
