The Medieval Church and the Mystics
Craig Eisendrath & Cy Libby
This talk traces the development of Christian theology from St. Augustine to St. Thomas, and the establishment of a static culture of the Church, the landowners, and the peasants. It also takes up the parallel path of the mystics, both Christian and Jewish, who stressed a direct experience of God, who was imminent in the soul.
